Max Verstappen Has No Immediate Plans To Join Ferrari Or Mercedes

Dutch ace Max Verstappen has said he is happy at Red Bull Racing and is not actively looking to move to Ferrari or Mercedes at the moment.



Speaking ahead of the Eifel Grand Prix, Verstappen told the RTL broadcaster that he wants to stay with Red Bull for at least a few more years.

When asked if he is considering a move to Ferrari, Verstappen replied: “At the moment, no.



“But it is always difficult to say what will happen in the next years. I am satisfied at Red Bull. I would like to continue there for a few more years.”



He had the same answer when asked about a potential move to Mercedes.



Continuing, he said: “At the moment they [Mercedes] are the best but I feel good at Red Bull. Maybe in a few more years there will be other opportunities but I am not concentrated on that yet.”



Following Honda’s decision to withdraw from Formula One, there has been renewed speculation about Max Verstappen’s future at Red Bull.



In particular, there’s been contradicting reports about the existence of a so-called “engine clause” in his contract which could see him leave Red Bull if they are unable to secure a competitive engine for 2022 and beyond.
