Brazilian Automobile Confederation hosts its awards gala

Sport news Winners of Brazil’s motor sport series were honoured with the country’s most prestigious motorsport award, the Golden Helmet (Capacete de Ouro). The list of drivers recognised during the night in the capital city of the country, Brasilia, included the likes of Gabriel Casagrande (Stock Car Pro Series), Felipe Baptista (Stock Car Light), Felipe Tozzo (Copa Truck) and many more representing full spectrum of competitions taking place across Brazil, from karting through rallying and rallycross to drifting and drag racing. The idea of an annual prize-giving was first introduced by the club’s former president Paulo Scaglione. During this year’s edition, the Golden Helmet celebrated its 25th anniversary, with the CBA turning 60 in 2021. The ceremony was also an opportunity to outline plans for the future development of Brazil’s motor sport scene. A Formula 4 chassis meeting FIA regulations was on display. The car will form the basis of the new-for-2022 entry-level single-seater competition – the F4 Brazilian Championship. Club’s President, Giovanni Ramos Guerra, and Brazilian racing legend, three-time Formula 1 world champion Nelson Piquet were in attendance.  The ceremony was partnered by BRB – Banco de Brasília, an institution that made significant investments into Brazilian motor sport.
