Lando Norris has a request for fans as he breaks up with Brazilian model

Lando Norris has confirmed that he has split up with girlfriend, Luisinha Barosa Oliveria, in a social media announcement.

Norris began seeing Oliveira just over a year ago, and confirmed on Instagram late last year that they had entered into a relationship.

Sadly, Oliveira has been under scrutiny from social media fans of Norris, some of whom have displayed their jealousy of her relationship with the 22-year-old, despite their never having met him.

The intrusive element of fans around the world is likely one of the reasons for the break-up, which ended amicably.

“Hello everyone. After time and consideration Luisa and myself have mutually decided to end our romantic relationship but remain good friends,” Norris said on Instagram.

“I wish her the world and have so much respect for her and all she does as such an amazing and strong woman with nothing but kindness.

“Pls respect our decision and respect our but more Importantly and especially her privacy moving forward. Thank you for your endless support.”

Oliveira is a Portuguese model who could frequently been seen at the races with Norris this year after their relationship began.

Norris is seventh in the Drivers’ Standings after 14 rounds of the 2022 season, having scored points on 11 occasions this year.

One of those was a podium finish at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in the fourth round of the season, when he took advantage of a late mistake by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

The Briton remains the only non-Red Bull, Ferrari or Mercedes driver to climb onto the rostrum so far this campaign.

Neither Norris nor team-mate Daniel Ricciardo were able to score points last weekend in Belgium, finishing 12 th  and 15 th  respectively.

Despite the MCL36 being one of the fastest in a straight line, Norris labelled the car “shocking” when it had DRS open, which is ultimately what cost McLaren last weekend.

The British side struggled in Zandvoort last year, but Norris went into the weekend hopeful that the issues experiences there in 2021 will be “not so evident” at the 2022 Dutch Grand Prix.
