WEC: Further principles of the future GT class defined
Sport news Further principles of the future GT class in the FIA World Endurance Championship, to be introduced in 2024, have been defined. The class will be based on the current FIA GT3 platform, but with several FIA WEC-specific adaptations. In line with the regulations of the Hypercar class, torque meter sensors will be mandatory in order to allow live monitoring of power unit performance. Other adaptations will include luminescent number panels and leader lights. Dedicated bodywork conversion kits will be permitted but not mandatory. A tender for the exclusive tyre supply to the class will be launched in due course.
