Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris spotted playing golf after Saudi Arabia disappointment

Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris have taken the chance to unwind with a round of golf after the pair looked to put a tough weekend in Saudi Arabia behind them.

The Mercedes driver’s ongoing woes continued around the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, as Hamilton only managed to battle his way from seventh to fifth, ending over 30 seconds behind race winner Sergio Perez.

With back-to-back fifth place finishes, Hamilton will have been hoping to put the Saudi GP behind him, especially after he was forced to allow his old rival Max Verstappen to breeze past him in the “fastest car” he’s ever seen.

The start to the 2023 season has only fuelled speculation around Hamilton’s future, who has yet to commit himself to Mercedes beyond his current contract.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff appears optimistic Hamilton will remain with the team, claiming the pair have formed a “great bond.”

For Norris, Saudi Arabia was more frustrating, as he found himself in a battle with his teammate, ending in 17 th  place and over 86 seconds behind the leading driver.

McLaren’s performance in Bahrain was plagued by reliability challenges, while the race in Saudi Arabia was over for the team on lap one after both drivers had to pit to replace their front wings.

With McLaren wallowing at the bottom of the grid, talk around Norris’ future has begun in the paddock despite him being committed to his current team under a long-term contract.

However, Norris has played down speculation.

“I’m still here for a few more years and it’s because I want to be. It wasn’t that I knew we would be winning championships or anything. I knew that it’s a journey and we need to develop and improve on what we have to get to that point,” he said.

Although Norris has joked that he’s “not the most patient guy,” for the time being he claimed he’s “very happy with the work, the plans and the development the team are doing.”
