‘Rude’ Martin Brundle clashes with Nico Rosberg
Ex-Formula 1 drivers Martin Brundle and Nico Rosberg were seen firing shots at one another ahead of qualifying on Saturday at the Hungarian Grand Prix, with Brundle having been labelled as “rude”.
Brundle and Rosberg are both part of Sky Sports F1’s punditry team at the Hungaroring this weekend, with the pair having clashed over Lewis Hamilton.
Ahead of qualifying, Brundle was discussing McLaren’s Lando Norris and how well he defended against Hamilton in the closing stages of the British Grand Prix, to maintain second place.
Brundle questioned whether the defensive display was a sign of the British “baton” being passed on, something Rosberg seemingly disagreed with.

“Lando placed his car really cleverly because he was vulnerable for a few corners and maybe even a lap or two,” Brundle said ahead of qualifying on Sky Sports F1.
“In a way you wonder if that’s the handing over of the baton with the British drivers in Formula One. Because Lando had that one covered and then pulled away.”
“Martin please slow down, Lewis is not quite done yet. He was first in FP3 there,” Rosberg quickly pointed out.
“I said handing over the baton. It will happen at some point,” replied Brundle.
After topping Free Practice 3, Hamilton went on to beat Norris and Max Verstappen to pole position, something which wasn’t expected to happen.
Brundle and Rosberg went on to clash again whilst discussing Daniel Ricciardo, who’s back on the grid this weekend.
Ricciardo is completing the 2023 season for AlphaTauri, following the firing of Nyck de Vries.
Brundle insisted ahead of qualifying that Ricciardo should be very quick “straight away”, to which Rosberg tried to joke with the pundit.
“In terms of raw pace I’d expect him to be straight on it,” stated Brundle.
“Your piling the pressure on him Martin,” Rosberg laughed.
“He asked me a question and I gave him an honest answer,” Brundle bluntly said.

Following the slightly frosty exchange, @F1_Jordan questioned on Twitter: “Why is Brundle rude to everyone these days?”
He wasn’t the only fan to be surprised by Brundle’s frostiness to the 2016 World Champion, with @LagentiumJim having shared their view that the duo don’t get on.
“I don’t think he likes Rosberg,” said the fan.
