FIA stages annual Conference in Samarkand

Members news In partnership with the National Autosport Karting Federation of Uzbekistan (NAFKU) and the City of Samarkand, the FIA is hosting 307 delegates from 176 clubs and 121 countries will attend the event, at the new Silk Road Complex. Alongside key meetings, including the World Motor Sport Council, the World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism, and the Extraordinary General Assemblies, the FIA will host a series of activities for delegates and Samarkand residents. These will include an exclusive 120th Anniversary exhibition, a mini Smart Driving Challenge, and an Esports Hotlapping challenge, for those looking to test their skills at the wheel. The 120th Anniversary exhibition will be hosted at the Expo Centre, and will celebrate the FIA’s extraordinary history, with treasures from the Hall of Fame collection, including Ayrton Senna’s race suit from the 1988 Suzuka GP and Sebastian Vettel’s signed racing gloves. An extraordinary private collection of super cars will also be on display at the venue.  The FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, said: “I would like to thank President Anvar Ergashev and the National Autosport Karting Federation of Uzbekistan and the City of Samarkand for hosting for what promises to be an exciting week ahead.  “This year marks a major milestone in the FIA’s history as we celebrate 120 years of the Federation with a commemorative display along with a special car exhibition at the Expo Centre.”   The FIA Conference will run from the 11th-14th June.
