Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton Handed Massive Boost at Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari is one of the most significant moves in F1 history, and Gerhard Berger believes a title win with the Scuderia would be an unmatched marketing triumph.

Hamilton left Mercedes after 12 seasons, seeking to break Michael Schumacher’s record with an eighth World Championship. The union of the sport’s most successful driver with its most iconic team has already generated immense anticipation.

Ferrari’s Championship Aspirations

Although Ferrari hasn’t won a title since the 2008 Constructors’ Championship, their resurgence under team principal Fred Vasseur has fueled optimism. Berger sees Hamilton’s addition as a key step in Ferrari’s return to dominance.

“If Hamilton could become World Champion in a Ferrari, it would be the greatest thing that has ever happened in Formula 1 in terms of marketing,” Berger said.

Why Ferrari Could Succeed in 2025

Berger is confident Ferrari will be in the title fight this season.

“I would put my money on Ferrari this season,” he said. “I can’t say whether Hamilton or Leclerc will win the Drivers’ or Constructors’ World Championship, but they will win a title.”

He credited Vasseur’s leadership, stating that Ferrari is now well-positioned in terms of chassis and engine performance. With a stable lineup and a proven race-winner in Hamilton alongside Leclerc, Ferrari’s chances of securing silverware look stronger than ever.

Whether it’s Hamilton or Leclerc leading the charge, the Scuderia appears primed for a serious title challenge in 2025.
