Lewis Hamilton hit with FIA investigation at 2025 Australian GP

Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton has had his Ferrari summoned by the FIA as the Australian Grand Prix weekend kicks off in Melbourne. The 2025 season opener sees a reshuffled grid, with only two teams retaining their driver lineup from the previous year.



A New Chapter for Hamilton at Ferrari



Hamilton’s move to Ferrari in February 2024 marked one of the most significant driver transfers in F1 history. After 12 years with Mercedes, the seven-time champion is now set to begin his first season with Scuderia Ferrari, partnering Charles Leclerc in the SF-25.



The British driver, who shares the record for most championships with Michael Schumacher, is eyeing an elusive eighth title. However, before he can hit the track, he and Ferrari must comply with F1’s standard car display procedure.



FIA’s Routine Inspection: Nothing Unusual



The FIA randomly selects cars for technical inspection before each race weekend, ensuring compliance with regulations. Hamilton’s Ferrari was chosen for scrutiny, alongside Gabriel Bortoleto’s Sauber and Isack Hadjar’s Racing Bull. This routine check, in line with Article 19 of the sporting regulations, requires teams to position the selected cars in the pit lane for examination.



As Hamilton prepares for his first official session with Ferrari at Albert Park Circuit, all eyes will be on how the SF-25 performs in its debut race weekend.
