ETRC: Misano plays host to 2025 season-opener
Sport news All eyes will be on the title battle between six-time champions Norbert Kiss and Jochen Hahn. Both enter the season level on European titles, with the opportunity to become the first-ever seven-time ETRC champion by year’s end. Kiss has dominated recent campaigns, while Hahn’s consistency remains a force to be reckoned with. After a strong 2024 season in the Chrome class, José Eduardo Rodrigues steps up to Titan, having claimed two overall wins last year. The Portuguese driver is expected to be a key challenger in the title fight. René Reinert returns to the grid, driving Kiss’s title-winning truck, adding further depth to the Titan field. Ruppert Motorsport joins the championship for a full-season debut. Several other teams are also committing to full campaigns, including Bradley Smith with Don’t Touch Racing and Stefan Kursch with Team Kursch Kurscheid. In Chrome, Johnathan André returns as a race-by-race entry at Misano in the #66 MAN for Lion Truck Racing. Misano’s four-kilometre-long technical layout, featuring 12 turns, along with passionate fans that traditionally attend the Italian Goodyear FIA ETRC round provide a fitting venue to open the season, with four races scheduled across Saturday and Sunday.
