Competitor applications open for FIA TCR World Ranking Final
Sport news The event will gather the top-ranked drivers from the global TCR ecosystem for a season-ending showdown. The weekend format will depend on the number of entries. If more than 35 main drivers are registered, the field will be split into Groups A, B, and C, each participating in play-off sessions that include practice, qualifying, and a 20-minute race. These sessions will determine the top 30 drivers, who will advance to the final stage. The concluding phase will feature a qualifying session, a 55-minute qualifying race, and the Main Race, covering a minimum distance of 65km. Guest drivers will appear in the final stage in the Free Practices and the Qualifying Race, having to take part for at least 15 minutes in each session, adding an extra layer of strategic planning to the competition. If the number of main driver entries is 35 or fewer, the play-off stage will not be held, and the event will proceed directly to the final phase. Each competitor may enter one main driver per one car, accompanied by a guest driver. To be eligible, main drivers must appear in the 2025 TCR World Ranking as of 6 October 2025. Guest drivers can be any drivers who hold a minimum of FIA International D license. Drivers competing full-time in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour are not eligible to enter as main drivers, although they may be registered as guest drivers. A maximum of 60 main driver entries will be accepted for the event. Guest drivers will only participate in the main Free Practice sessions and the Qualifying Race, but not in the Main Race. The 2025 Kumho FIA TCR World Ranking Final title will be awarded to the main driver who finishes first in the Main Race. Including guest drivers in the event helps to reduce participation costs while also allowing regular TCR World Tour drivers to add excitement to the competition, while keeping the title fight reserved for competitors from national-level TCR series. Launched in 2023, the TCR World Tour received FIA recognition in 2024 for its second season, becoming the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour. This official status marked a major milestone, positioning the World Tour as the premier international TCR competition and successor to WTCR.
