Speaking ahead of his visit to Uzbekistan, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “Bringing our community together at moments like this is essential to the strength and unity of our federation. These events give us a valuable chance to listen, collaborate and participate, especially in a defining election year. “Our Members remain central to everything the FIA delivers. Over the coming days, I look forward to hearing their perspectives, deepening the connection between sport and mobility, broadening our global footprint, and showcasing the impact we can make together. “I am proud of the achievements we have realised over the last four years, and my focus remains on ensuring the FIA continues its transformation into an organisation that delivers meaningful value to society. Around the world, we are working to expand participation in motorsport through grassroots pathways and inclusive programmes such as the Affordable Cross Car and the Global Karting Plan. “At the same time, we are strengthening our mobility mission across all regions, reinforcing our role within the automotive ecosystem and leading conversations on sustainable cities, safer roads and the future of transport.” Commenting on the location of this year’s conference, Ben Sulayem said: “Tashkent is a vibrant gateway between past and future, making it an ideal venue for one of the FIA’s most significant weeks. I look forward to discovering the depth and character of this unique destination, and my thanks to our hosts the National Autosport & Karting Federation of Uzbekistan.” The conference will be attended by representatives from the 245 FIA Member Clubs. This structure forms the backbone of the federation’s governance and operations, with each full Member Club holding voting rights across the FIA’s elections and regulatory decisions. Clubs are grouped into two primary categories, with some serving in both roles: Mobility Clubs – provide mobility services and represent the interest of road users, with a focus on road safety, travel and tourism, consumer rights, and sustainable mobility National Sporting Authorities (ASNs) – govern and develop motorsport at a national level, are responsible for sporting events, issuing licenses, and engagement across regulations ENDS For media enquiries, please contact: Geri Sherwin, Director of Presidential & Mobility Communications: gsherwin@fia.com Joe Kidd, Presidential Communications Officer: jkidd@fia.com The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) is the governing body for world motor sport and the federation for mobility organisations globally.
