Drake Honours Kimi Raikkonen’s Iconic Ice Sculpture And Lewis Hamilton Loves It

Rap superstar Drake has referenced an F1 legend as part of the promotion for his latest album, titled ICEMAN, and Lewis Hamilton has responded with enthusiasm.
Before Drake’s album release, the nickname “Iceman” was firmly associated within the F1 community with 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen.
Raikkonen built a legendary status in Formula 1 not only through his championship win and 21 race victories but also through his famously nonchalant and no-fuss demeanour.
His monosyllabic interview answers and trademark sunglasses earned him the Iceman nickname, alongside his Finnish heritage, making him one of the sport’s most iconic personalities.
At the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix, Raikkonen was honoured with a full-scale ice sculpture of his McLaren MP4-21, a moment that has since taken on legendary status among fans.
Now, 20 years later, that iconic ice sculpture has been brought back to life in an unexpected cultural crossover involving one of music’s biggest stars.
Artist and designer Spinz, who intersects motorsports, music and lifestyle in his creations, worked with Drake to recreate the original sculpture using the car’s original CAD files.
The recreated ice sculpture was then delivered to Drake’s house on the album’s release day, with Drake posing beside it in a series of Instagram photographs that also included reference images of Raikkonen.
Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton was among the F1 figures to react in the comments, responding with the fire emoji and the word “bro.”
Drake became the first artist in history to rank at number one, two and three simultaneously in the Billboard albums chart following the release of his trio of albums ICEMAN, HABIBTI, and MAID OF HONOUR.
The moment represents a striking collision between the worlds of motorsport and mainstream music culture, bringing renewed global attention to one of Formula 1’s most beloved historical figures.
