Lando Norris Completes Debut Nurburgring Lap With Road Rage And A Soft Spot For Skoda
McLaren has released the full video of reigning F1 champion Lando Norris completing his first ever lap of the iconic Nurburgring circuit.
The footage was captured during a McLaren filming day at the legendary track earlier in 2026, when both McLaren drivers were spotted at the venue.
Norris tackled the full 20.8-kilometre circuit in the McLaren 750s, navigating one of motorsport’s most challenging and famous stretches of road.
Max Verstappen has been the driver most associated with the Nurburgring recently, after his attempt at the 24-hour race in May ended with a late failure denying him victory.
Norris, however, faced a very different challenge during his debut lap, as heavy traffic around the circuit caused repeated frustration throughout the run.
The F1 champion made no effort to hide his anger when he found himself stuck behind a BMW, shouting at the driver to move out of his way.
He also shouted apologetically to another driver who passed him, declaring it was his first time at the circuit, only to overtake that same driver later in the lap.
At another point, Norris found himself stuck behind a cluster of cars and complained about being held up, questioning why so many BMWs were present at the track.
Not every encounter left him frustrated, however, as his mood visibly softened when he came across a Skoda on track, describing that driver as a “legend.”
At the end of the video, Norris reflected on the experience with clear enthusiasm, delivering a memorable verdict on completing the lap.
“That was a lap of the Nordschleife,” Norris said in the footage released by McLaren.
“That is a bucket list item, ticked off. My first ever lap of the Nordschleife, I was pretty happy with that!”
