George Russell Reveals Marriage Plans With Girlfriend Carmen Mundt: ‘Without Doubt She’s My Future’

Mercedes Formula 1 driver George Russell has confirmed his intention to marry long-term girlfriend Carmen Mundt ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.
The 28-year-old spoke openly about his relationship with Mundt in an interview with The Times, crediting her as the person who keeps him grounded throughout the pressures of F1.
Russell has endured a difficult recent run of results, retiring from the Canadian Grand Prix on lap 30 after suffering a power unit failure while leading the race.
That retirement handed victory to Mercedes team-mate Kimi Antonelli, who now leads the drivers’ championship by 43 points over Russell.
Antonelli holds the distinction of being the youngest drivers’ championship leader in Formula 1 history, adding further pressure on Russell to close the gap in Monaco.
Despite the on-track difficulties, Russell maintains he is able to keep a level head, and he has pointed directly to Mundt as the reason why he can do so.
Russell was quoted as saying that Carmen brings him stability in racing and also provides a way to disconnect from the intense demands of the sport.
In his own words, Russell stated: “Carmen brings me stability when it comes to racing and also a way to disconnect.”
He went further, setting a clear timeframe for their future together: “Without doubt she’s my future. So [I hope we’ll be married] in due course. It won’t be next week, but it won’t be longer than five years. So somewhere in that timeframe.”
Russell described their relationship dynamic as the trick to surviving in what he called the dog-eat-dog world of Formula 1.
Carmen Mundt was born in Spain in 1998 and relocated to London at the age of 18 to pursue her studies.
She graduated with a degree in business management and finance from the University of Westminster and now works for Ruffer LLP, an investment company based in the English capital.
Mundt and Russell have been in a public relationship since 2020, and she is a regular presence in the F1 paddock on race weekends.
She is also known to be a supporter of the F1 Academy championship, which is run by Susie Wolff, former driver and wife of Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff.
Despite her proximity to the world of Formula 1, Mundt has previously insisted she was unaware of Russell’s fame in the sport when they first met.
